LITERATURE: HOMEWORK 10/18-22, 2010


In the picture above, you see the stoles of some Bishops of the Catholic Church. Julian mentions these vestments many times in these first ten chapters of The Amethyst Ring. One wonders how much longer Julian can get away with his masquerade? You should be reading Chapters 1-10 for Tuesday, at which time you will have a quiz over the basic information in those chapters.

Your other assignments are below, along with your Spelling and Vocabulary words. This week in History, we will continue to study the Spanish explorers and their "doings" in the New World. You will also be finishing your Aztec legends and coloring pages from the Aztec codices, and moving into the world of the Inca of Peru!

HOMEWORK for the WEEK OF OCTOBER 18-29, 2010 (2 weeks of assignments)

For TUESDAY, October 19--You need to have completed Chapters 1-10 of The Amethyst Ring, pages 355-418, which was assigned last Tuesday. You will have a quiz after we discuss the chapters.

For WEDNESDAY, October 20--Read Chapters 11-13, pages 419-439

For THURSDAY, October 21--Read Chapters 14-17, pages 440-461. Beginning Thursday night, read Chapters 18-23 for Monday, October 25. You will have a quiz over Chapters 11-23 on Monday after we have discussed the chapters.

For FRIDAY, October 22--Be prepared to take your spelling and vocabulary test.

For MONDAY, October 25--You should come to class having read Chapters 18-23, pages 462-499. We will discuss these chapters and have a quiz over Chapters 11-23. Read Chapters 24-26, pages 500-520 for tomorrow.

For TUESDAY, October 26--You should come having read chapters 24-26.

For WEDNESDAY, October 27--Read chapters 27-29, pages 521-538.

For THURSDAY, October 28--Read chapters 30 and 31 (the end!), pages 539-553.

There will be new spelling and vocabulary words for a test on Friday,October 29. You will also have your last quiz over The Amethyst Ring, Chapters 24-31.
