LITERATURE & HISTORY: February 13-17, 2012

Hello, Students!

This week, we will finish reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond in Literature. In History, we will explore the theories of what happened to Roanoke, and move on to Jamestown and the Starving Time. Please study the words below for your spelling test, which will be on Tuesday, February 21 (since Monday is a day off for you for Parent/Teacher Conferences.)



Reading Assignments:

For MONDAY, February 13—You should have read Chapters 15 and 16 in WOBBP, studied for your spelling test, and written in your Reader’s Journal. You will have a quiz on over Chapters13-16. HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 17 and write in your Reader’s Journal. Begin working on writing new spelling words three times each in Cursive—due on Thursday.

On TUESDAY: We will discuss Chapter 17 and turn in Reader’s Journals. We will begin writing a script for a play of WOBBP. HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 18 and write in your Reader’s Journal.

On WEDNESDAY: We will discuss Chapter 18 and turn in Reader’s Journals and continue working on WOBBP script. HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 19 and write in your Reader’s Journal.

On THURSDAY: Turn in your spelling words for next week’s test written 3 times in cursive.We will discuss Chapter 19 and turn in Reader’s Journals. We will continue working on script. HOMEWORK: Read Chapters 20 and 21 (finish the book) and write in your Reader’s Journal. Study Chapters 17-21 for last quiz tomorrow.

On FRIDAY: Discuss Chapters 20 and 21. Take last quiz over WOBBP (you will be able to use your Reader’s Journal). Turn in Reader’s Journals. Try and finish script for WOBBP. HOMEWORK: Study for spelling test on Tuesday, February 21. No school on Monday.
